BUSINESS CREATION 

  • EIT Jumpstarter – idea competition for people with promising ideas in the agri-food sector, with a pre-acceleration programme and chance to win 10K EUR grant.
  • For whom? scientific project teams, innovators, scientists in agri-food sector (supply chain, food production, processing, distribution, packaging and tracking, healthy nutrition, reduction and valorisation of food waste streams).
  • Application deadline: 10 April
  • Online Pre-Jumpstarter info session in Latvia (with Davids Stebelis, experienced Jumpstarter mentor): 1 April, 15:00 – 17:00 EEST, register here via Eventbrite
  • TeamUp – matches leading technologists with top business professionals and provides
    training, funding and network to help them co-create impactful agrifood ventures.
  • For whom? People with innovative agrifood technologies or solutions who struggle to commercialise them (f.e. researchers, scientists, startup owners with technical/scientific background).
  • Application deadline: 14 April
  • Test Farms – test and validate your agritech solution in the field.
  • For whom? For startups with an innovative prototype (soil improvers or technological) to solve an agricultural challenge. The innovation should resolve an agriculture challenge related to sustainability, digital
    traceability, circular food systems or targeted nutrition.

  • RIS Fellowships – paid internship opportunities dedicated to MSc students, graduates and young entrepreneurs.

HACKATHON

  • From April 22 to 24, powered by the Mission “Sea 2030”, Riga will host an international 48-hour hackathon “City to Sea” dedicated to Aquaculture and Urban Mobility. 9000 EUR prize fund in each track. Join with or without idea, as an individual or startup team.
